Adele Kae Bye, 66, of Hatton, ND, passed away Monday December 4th at her home in Hatton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton. A visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton.
Adele Kae Bye (Anderson) was born in Fargo, ND, on April 14, 1951 to Merlyn and Elberta Anderson (Stibbe) of Hunter, ND. She grew up on a farm in Erie, ND and attended school in Hunter. She graduated high school in 1969. After high school, she attended Mayville State University where she graduated with a degree in Music and Elementary Education. She went on to teach in Tappen and Hatton, ND. She married Gerald Bye on December 29th, 1980. Together, they have two sons, Jesse and Tyler. Adele and Gerald lived in rural Hatton until moving into town in November of 2016. They were married for 37 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and bringing meals to the field, making sure her men were fed.
Adele loved volunteering and had a passion for playing piano and organ, both at St. John Lutheran Church and Hatton Prairie Village. She taught music for the Sunday school at St. John for 20+ years until she retired in January of 2017. She was an active member in the Ladies Aide, various committees and groups within the church and volunteered most days at Hatton Prairie Village. You could usually find her in the coffee shop or sing-alongs for the residents. Adele enjoyed crafting and decorating her home. She adored her granddaughter, Madison and cherished any time she was able to spend with her. Adele was also eagerly looking forward to the birth of Jesse and Michelle's baby in a few short weeks.
Adele is survived by her husband, Gerald, sons Jesse (Michelle) Bye, Hatton; Tyler Bye, Fargo; her father, Merlyn Anderson, Hunter, ND; her siblings, Doug (Gayle) Anderson, Los Angeles, CA, Kendall (Virginia) Anderson, Post Falls, ID, and Tamara (Parker) Thilmony, Detroit Lakes, MN; granddaughter, Madison Bye, Bemidji, MN, aunts, Beva Peters, Fairfield, CA; Merilyn Rogers, Ozark, AL; Dolores Corley, Fargo, ND; Kenneth Anderson, Kona, HI; Joanna Martin, Colorado Springs, CO, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elberta Anderson, and many aunts and uncles.
