Andrew was born on December 24th, 2005, in Grand Forks, ND. He was looking forward to starting his sophomore year at Northwood Public School. He was involved in Football, Basketball, and Baseball.
Andrew had an infectiously beautiful smile, but we usually just got his one-of-a-kind smirk! He was a kind young man with many friends, and he was so awesome with the younger kids and cousins.
Andrew enjoyed many things. He loved hunting, guns, fishing, his dirt bike, golfing, and of course his old rusty pickup. He was so proud of his pickup’s loud pipes! He experienced elk hunting last fall and brought home a nice bull elk from New Mexico. He also had a few years of whitetail deer hunting under his belt.
Andrew loved spending time with his buddies and playing video games. They had just started fixing up a hangout not too far from his house, “The Shed”, where they loved hanging out together.
A shared passion with his dad: demolition derbies. Andrew started watching him compete when he was just a baby. Andrew loved the derbies! He had so many “derby” matchbox cars around the house and everywhere! He couldn’t wait until he was old enough to enter himself. This summer he did just that, and he brought home a third-place trophy! Andrew was hooked, and he and his dad were ready to build derby cars every year and compete!
“Andrewman” was what our family nicknamed him when he was young. He was becoming a wonderful, caring, handsome, and kind young man. We all loved him so much and have been left with holes in our hearts. We will all miss him dearly, and he will never be forgotten. His memory will live on forever through all of us.
Andrew was preceded in death by Aunt Tammy, Grandma Patti, and Grandma Carla. We know they all wrapped their loving arms around him that day…
He is survived by his loving parents Corey and Katie Huus, sister McKenzie Huus, Grandpas, Donny Huus and Jim Sletten, aunts and uncles; Curtis (Barb) Huus, John (Michelle) Huus, Kim (Jay) Ostlie, Jason (Monica) Sletten, Shannon (Dee Jay) Johnson, Heather (Jon) Studsrud, Molly (Ryan) Tabery, cousins; Steph (Riley) Lillemoen, Sara (Kody) Grandalen, Tiffany (Max) Tangen, Jessica (Tim Ness) Ostlie, Spencer (Karissa Jerome) Huus, John (Mandi Stark) Huus, Bailey (Tanner Cordahl) Westmoreland, Cody Ostlie, Skylar Westmoreland, Jaylie and Tucker Woods, Jayce Johnson, Kenley, Tatum, and Beckham Studsrud, Morgan and Hadley Tabery, and numerous other cousins and close friends.
