Archie Gabriel

Archie Conrad Gabriel, 88, of Northwood ND, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10:30am at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held Monday, March 30, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00pm with a 7:00pm prayer service at the Bilden Funeral Home in Northwood.
Archie was born on the 8th of April 1926, to Arthur and Mina (Amundson) Gabriel in Chokio, MN. He was confirmed in 1940 at West Union Church in rural Northwood and graduated from Northwood High School in 1945. Archie served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952; and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star, and the Purple Heart after being wounded in action during the Korean Conflict. He was a farmer west of Northwood in Grace and Logan Township nearly all of his life. Archie loved his farm and his hobbies were tinkering with tractors and farm equipment. He was kindhearted and generous, especially to his family; always caring for others before himself.
Archie is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mina; three brothers, Harvey, Kermit and Wilfred Gabriel; two sisters, Olive Tangen and Madelene Camperud Higdem, along with nieces and nephews.
