Ardith Haga

August 11, 1923 — December 27, 2013

Ardith Haga, 90, of Northwood, ND passed away peacefully Friday evening, December 27, 2013 at Edgewood Vista Alzheimer's Home in East Grand Forks, MN. Funeral services will be held at a later date this spring.
Ardith Austina Thue was born August 11, 1923 and grew up in Wheelock, ND. She was the youngest of six children born to Bertha and Henry Thue. She graduated from Wheelock High School in 1941.
Ardith went to college at NDSU in Fargo, later transferring to the University of North Dakota where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Sorority. It was during that time she met the love of her life, Glenn Haga from Northwood, ND.
Ardith and Glenn married on July 6, 1947 and moved to the family farm. Ardith and Glenn had two children, Gerry and Annie. They moved to Northwod in 1960 and lived there until Glenn passed away.
Ardith did not work outside the home, but was a mom that anybody could be proud of. Her family meant everything to her and she would give of herself everything she had. She was active in school PTA and church activities at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Northwood. She loved having a cup of coffee and visiting with family and friends. Ardith had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Following the death of her husband Glenn in 2007, she fought the disease of Alzheimer's for the rest of her life. She first moved to Good Samaritan Homes in East Grand Forks then finally to Edgewood Vista, also in East Grand Forks. In both of these homes, Ardith was very happy and as a family we have appreciated the great care she received.
Ardith is survived by her son, Gerry (Sherry) Haga and their children, Kristen (Chris) Coward, Brittany, and Gretchen; daughter, Annie Halverson and her daughters: Tera (Matt) Hansen, Jenny (Justin) Valinski, and Chelsey (Nick) Johnson; sister, Tess Rendleman; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Henry, brother Kenneth, sisters Eva, Helen, and Augie, and her husband Glenn.
