Arleigh Huus

August 17, 1936 — March 18, 2018

Arleigh Huus, 81, of Hatton, ND passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Arleigh Huus was born August 17, 1936 on the family farm in rural Hatton, ND to Sanford and Lillian (Sletten) Huus. He grew up in the Hatton area and graduated from Hatton High School in 1954. He attended NDSU for one year for agriculture before returning home to farm with his dad and raise cattle and pigs. On October 13, 1969, Arleigh married Margie Dahl at First Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks, MN. Arleigh retired from farming in 1983 and worked for Busch Ag for 15 years and area farmers until he went into the nursing home. He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John. Arleigh served on the St. John Church Council, taught Sunday School and was the treasurer of the Washington Township Board. He was active in 4-H and helped judge livestock.

Survivors include his wife, Margie, Hatton, ND; daughter, Tyann (Terry) Smothers, Miller, SD; son, David Huus, Fargo, ND; sister, Bernett (Roy) Burt, Aberdeen, SD. Arleigh is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and son, Danny.
