Avis Lindroos

Borghilde Avis Kathryn Lindroos, 97, of Northwood, ND passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Avis was born January 13, 1924, in Northwood, ND to Elvin and Hannah (Paulson) Haga. She attended school in Northwood and graduated from Northwood High School in 1941. After high school, Avis attended Augsburg and the University of Minnesota. On June 21, 1947, Avis married Toivo Lindroos. They raised their family in North Dakota, Minnesota and for the last 55 years, Porterville, California.
Avis was very involved at Trinity Lutheran Church in Porterville, CA. She taught Sunday School for many years. She also loved helping in her community, volunteering with singing at nursing homes and playing bridge.
Survivors include her children: Rebecca Lindroos, Northwood, ND; Cheryl (Bob) Martin, Lake Geneva, WI; Michael (Debbie) Lindroos, Norton, OH; Beth (Kathleen) Lindroos, Denver, CO; Thorman (Bethanie) Lindroos, Vacaville, CA; Richard (Wanda) Lindroos, Encinitas, CA; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred to Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran Church in Porterville, CA.
