Betty Lippert

Betty Lippert, 85, of Aneta, ND passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10:00a.m. at Sundahl Lutheran Church in Aneta. A visitation will be held from 9:00a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Betty Lorraine Smaaland was born December 26, 1928 in Rugh Township, ND to Henry and Marie (Hoge) Smaaland. She attended Rughe Township School from grades 1-8. On May 9, 1948, Betty married Charles Lippert at the Catholic Church in Jesse, ND. Betty worked as a cook at the Aneta Café, Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Aneta Public School, and Aneta Bakery. She enjoyed bingo, coffee with friends, visiting with old friends at Aneta Turkey Barbeque, and having her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren over to visit and stay with her.

Survivors include her children: David (Patty) Lippert, Charles (Julie) Lippert, Margaret (Steve) Tande, Denise (Curt) Knutson, James Lippert, Michael Lippert; grandchildren: Duane (Penny) Lippert, Jeffrey (Pepper) Lippert, Thomas (Christa) Lippert, Nancy (Brad) Neis, Jay Lippert (Fiancé Debbie Garcia Hill), Erin Lippert, Kelsey (Charles) Azcarate, Angela (Andrew) Bisbee, Amy Jo (Aaron) Gillette, Patrick Knutson, Shaun (Brandy) Knutson, Sierra Lippert, Mayson Lippert, Kade Lippert; great-grandchildren: Madison Lippert, Paytan Lippert, Riley Lippert, Carly Lippert, Krista Lippert, Brandi Lippert, Tyson Lippert, Braedan Lippert, Darby Neis, Celena Lippert, Kyra Azcarate, Ellaina Azcarate, Odin Bisbee, McKenzie Syverson, Courtney Syverson, Richter Knutson; siblings: Sally Severinson, Birdie Smaaland; Betty is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Charles, daughter baby girl Lippert, siblings: Adeline Hanson, Alvin Smaaland, Maynard Smaaland, and Alice Sandeen.
