Betty Pratt

Betty Pratt, 87, of Northwood, ND passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Betty Jane Pratt was born December 27, 1928, the daughter of Bert and Bessie (Benson) Pratt in Devils Lake, ND and spent the majority of her life in Northwood, ND. She graduated from Northwood High School and went to beauty school in Grand Forks. She owned and operated Betty's Beauty Shop, Betty's Clothes Hut and then worked in the business office at NDHC until her retirement.

Betty enjoyed golfing and playing bridge. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary. Betty was the matriarch of the Pratt family. She loved entertaining, especially Christmas for her brothers, sisters and their families. The last Christmas she hosted, there was more than 40 in attendance.

Survivors include her brother, Lyle (Doris) Pratt; sister, Ruth Jacobson; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, Robert Pratt and Duane Pratt and sister, Donna Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
