Betty Rustad

Betty Rustad, 82, of Aneta, ND passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at Aneta Parkview Nursing Home in Aneta. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 15, 2016 at 2:00p.m. at Sundahl Lutheran Church in Aneta. A visitation will be held from 1:00p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Betty Dietz was born October 28, 1933 in Hassfurt, Germany to Josef and Annalie (Guenther) Dietz. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church. She grew up in Hassfurt and on December 17, 1954, Betty came to America with her infant son. She came over to New York on the ship Greekline. Once in America, she traveled by train with her infant son to the Minnesota area where she worked for a short time. Betty came to the Petersburg area and became a housekeeper for the Joe Olson family. On October 29, 1971, she married Alton Rustad. Betty enjoyed baking, visiting with friends, crafting, crocheting, embroidery and ceramics. Betty traveled back to Germany twice to see family.

Survivors include her sister, Resi Rudolf, Germany; grandchildren: Danielle (Ryan) Zins, Teresa (Mike) Benson, David (Karissa) Daws; great-grandchildren: Zachary, Brynn, Brayden, Megan, Tucker, Graysen, Leightyn; daughter-in-law, Sylvia (Greg) Daws; sister-in-law, Lillian Solberg; nieces: Lyndell Morrissey, Nadine (Jerry) Hunt; and nephew, Kevin (Judy) Solberg; Betty is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Alton; son, Hubert Dietz; and a sister.
