Beverly Ann Sieg (Bjerke) was born July 3rd, 1945, in Mayville, ND to Bernard and Alpha (Myhrer) Bjerke, the 4th of 5 children. She grew up in Portland, ND and Grygla, MN.

Bev met the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Sieg of Reynolds, and they were married on May 15th, 1964. They had celebrated 60 years of marriage together earlier this summer. On March 13th, 1966 they welcomed their only daughter, Shari Ann.

Family was everything to Bev. Her and Jerry enjoyed frequent trips to the Emerado Dairy Queen and grocery shopping trips most Sundays in Grand Forks. Bev had an especially close bond with her daughter, Shari. Bev helped Shari to get her business started, and 18 years later, Bev was still eagerly greeting patrons at Hair Unlimited. Her grandsons, Brock and Logan, were her pride and joy. From cheering them on in all aspects of life, to serving their favorite meals, she cherished each special moment with them. Becoming a great grandma to Sophie completed her. Bev was an amazing wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. In addition to her family, Bev enjoyed taking care of others, especially those who were lucky enough to call her a friend. She loved serving as an “adopted” grandmother to Kailee, Dustin, Brody, Connor, and Cole Hjelmstad whom she loved as if they were her own grandkids. She always put others first and would do anything for anyone. She was the definition of a caretaker.

Bev is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Gerald, daughter, Shari Sherva, grandsons, Brock (Darian) Sherva, and Logan Sherva, great- granddaughter, Sophie Sherva, sisters Janice Norby, and Marlys (Doug) Allen, special friends Jon and Junelle Hjelmstad, Kailee (Michael) Adeshina and their children, Dustin (Gretchen) Hjelmstad and their son, Brody (Maggie) Hjelmstad, Connor (Tayla) Hjelmstad and their daughter, Cole Hjelmstad and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, brother, Boyd Bjerke, sister, Elaine Sorlien, father-in-law, Ezra Sieg, mother-in-law, Katie Sieg, son-in-law, Kevin Sherva, brother-in-law, Gordon Norby, sister-in-laws, Gisela Bjerke and Bertha Tetzlaff, great nephew, Tim Norby, and great niece, Melissa Norby.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the amazing caregivers at Northwood Deaconess Health Center for the wonderful care Bev received.
