Beverly Y. Stavens, 79, of Hatton, ND passed away Monday, August 15, 2011, at Sanford Health, Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church, Hatton, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, August 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton, ND. Burial in the St. John Cemetery Columbarium.
Beverly Bjerke was born December 30, 1931, at Hatton to John L. and Myrtle (Erickson) Bjerke. She grew up and attended school at Hatton.
On October 21, 1949, she married Arthur Stavens at Northwood, ND. After their marriage she worked at various businesses in the Hatton area and also worked several years at Hatton Prairie Village. She enjoyed quilting ,playing cards and games with her family and friends. Beverly was a member of the St. John Lutheran Ladies Aide and was also a Girl Scout leader. She was a caregiver to many and was everybody's rock.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur; children: Sharlene Kalina, Phoenix, AZ, Marlow (Connie) Stavens, Valley City, ND, Lorna (David) Brager, West Fargo, ND, and Mark Stavens, Hatton; grandchildren:Brett (Ben) Kalina, Jim (Janene) Kalina, Kelly (Emily) Kalina, Michelle (Steve) Dias; Shayn (Elena) Stavens and Aaron Stavens; Micah Brager, Traci Brager, and Erick Brager; great grandchildren: Megan, Cole, Jacob, Abby, Taiya, Charlie, Elizabeth, Sianna, Sophie, and Jordan; sister, Susan (Jim) Myron, Northwood, ND ;seven sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; granddaughter, Karisti Kalina and brothers, John Jr. and Levern Bjerke.
Clergy: Rev. Mark Brickzin and Pastor Dean Lyste.
Honorary Pallbearers: All of Beverly's Grandchildren.
Music: Elaine Flaten, Pianist, Emilie Berg and Wesley Sanda, Soloists, and Stephanie Vaagne, Accompanist.
