Beverly Jean Suby, beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and beacon of warmth, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 25th, 2024, at the age of 89.
Her journey through life was marked by boundless love, unwavering kindness, and an indomitable spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Beverly's journey through life was a testament to the power of empathy and the beauty of a soul devoted to service. Her unwavering commitment to her faith infused every aspect of her being, guiding her steps with grace and wisdom.
Beverly was born on January 24th, 1935, to her loving parents Orphey and Ruth (Johson) Smaaladen in rural McVille, ND. She graduated from Aneta High School in 1952 and married the love of her life, Stewart Suby on December 6th, 1953, in Aneta, ND. They established their home in rural Northwood, ND and were blessed with two children, Terry, and Lisa.
Early in her family life, Beverly embraced her role as a farm wife and mother with grace and determination. Later on, she received her medical records degree from St. Scholastica in 1973 and began work as a Medical Records Specialist at Northwood Deconess Health Center for many years. Beverly was very active in her church and the Northwood community.
Beverly had a love for travel, especially when shared with cherished friends. She and Stewart were avid bowlers and competed in several tournaments. Beverly found joy in dancing the nights away with Stewart by her side, their preferred dance being the Jitterbug.
Beverly's devotion to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unparalleled. She delighted in their laughter, cherished their company, and took immense joy in family Yahtzee games. She made every moment count, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come. Her love knew no limits, and her family was her greatest pride and joy.
A woman of undeniable strength, Beverly faced life's challenges with resilience and determination, never once faltering in her resolve. Her spirit was unbreakable, her resolve unwavering, a shining example of the power of perseverance and faith.
Beneath Beverly's spirited exterior beat the heart of a fiercely loyal friend, whose steadfast presence provided comfort and solace to all who knew her. Her friendships were forged in the fires of shared laughter and tears, standing as a testament to the enduring power of love and loyalty.
Beverly is survived by her son, Terry Suby, grandchildren, Sara(Matt) Edmondson, Rory (Lacy) Suby and Drew Suby. Great grandchildren, Seven, Reina, Forrest and Pierce, sister Elise, sister-in-law Bonnie Sandeen and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by herdaughter Lisa and her husband Stewart. She is also preceded in death by her parents Orphey Smaaladen, and Ruth SmaaladenSandeen, stepfather Verner Sandeen, brothers Jerry Smaaladen, Laverne Sandeen and Rudy Sandeen, sister Gloria (Googa) Pecka, brothers in law Raymond Pecka and Richard Davidson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6th from 9:00am-11:00 at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church inNorthwood, ND and funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m.
Beverly Jean Suby leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will endure for generations to come. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Memorial donations may be made to the Washington Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery Association in Beverly's honor.
