Carolyn Garcia

Carolynn (Suzie) Garcia, 67, of Hatton, ND and formerly of Gallup, NM, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at her home in Hatton. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton. A visitation will be held Monday, October 9, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery in Hatton.

Carolyn Ann Bye was born April 23, 1950 in Northwood, ND to Orion and Steffine (Lesmeister). Suzie was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton. She grew up in Hatton and graduated from Hatton High School in 1968. Suzie attended college in Wahpeton, ND and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. On June 20, 1970, Suzie married Joe Garcia at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton. They moved to McKinley County, NM in 1970, where she lived for 47 years before moving back to Hatton. While in New Mexico, Suzie was a stay at home mom until the children reached grade school. She then worked as a substitute teacher and retired as a Librarian at Thoreau Elementary School. Suzie enjoyed playing games, spending time with family, attending church and bible study.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Garcia, Hatton, ND; daughter, Kimberley (Mark) Garcia, Colorado; son, Joe Kyle Garcia, Texas; grandchildren: Jonah, Gabriel, Nathaniel, and Bodhi; brother, Allen (Claudia) Morse, Idaho.

Preceding her in death were her parents, twin brother, and cousin, Raymond Nelson.
