Darlyne Sieg

Darlyne Sieg, 79, of Emerado, ND passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood, ND. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00am at Ascension Lutheran Church in Emerado. A visitation will be held one hour before the time of the service at the church.
Darlyne was born February 24, 1935 in Grand Forks, ND to Herman and Mathilda (Holweger) Griese. She grew up in the Pleasantview area and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. After high school, she attended Mayville State Teachers College (Mayville State University) and received a one year teacher’s certificate. Darlyne taught grade school at Oakville 41 until marriage. On February 11, 1955, Darlyne married Raland Sieg at Pleasantview Church in rural Emerado. She was employed by Baseview Petroleum until her retirement. Some of her hobbies include gardening, lawn work, reading, cooking, and baking. Darlyne always prepared meals and special food for all her family and friends. She was a very caring wife, mom, and good friend.

Survivors include her son, Jeff (Joy) Sieg, Emerado, ND; nephew, Kevin; niece, Collette; and several cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raland, and brother, Weldon.
