Donald Kamphaug

Donald Kamphaug, 80, of Hatton, ND passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Essentia Health Center in Fargo, ND. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Donald Kamphaug was born March 28, 1935 near Hatton, ND to Adolph and Gertrude (Enger) Kamphaug. He grew up in Hatton and worked on the family farm until his enlistment into the United States Navy. After serving his country, Donald returned to the Hatton area, where he worked construction and worked for various local farmers. On January 3, 1961, Donald married Ethel Beck in Polk County, MN. Ethel passed away August 28, 1996. Donald enjoyed watching his grandkids activities and visiting with family and friends. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Hatton American Legion.

Survivors include his daughter, Karen (Alan) Eichhorn, Portland, ND; son, Matthew (Teresa) Kamphaug, Hatton, ND; grandchildren: Alyssa Eichhorn and Jordan Kamphaug; step-grandchildren: Savannah and Chelsey; great-grandchildren: Noah, Payton and Bentley; sister, Delores Dronen;

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Ethel; twin sister, Donna; and brothers, Douglas and Darrell.
