Elsie Pierce

Elsie Pierce, 95, of Hatton, ND passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton. A burial services will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dent, MN that afternoon.

Elsie Mae Schimedeberg was born November 27, 1923. She married Wilbert Pierce on January 1, 1940. Elsie had numerous jobs in her lifetime and was very involved with trapping. She was recognized for her work with “Furtakers”, a national organization, and was inducted into the Furtakers Hall of Fame.

They had 5 children; sons, Dale and Jerry; daughters, Joyce Gensrich, Yvonne Durray and Duella Foss. She had 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Wilbert; all of her brothers and sisters, and three grandchildren.
