Ernest A. Gensrich, 65, of Hatton, North Dakota died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at his home in Hatton.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 am, Saturday, February 14, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton with burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Ernest Alfred Gensrich was born October 19, 1943 in Grand Forks, North Dakota the son of Ernest A. and Eleanor (Harmon) Gensrich, Sr. He was raised on a farm near Hatton attending Union Country School and then graduated from Hatton High School in 1961. He then served in the United States Army. Upon his discharge he settled in Lewiston, Montana where he worked in construction. On October 27, 1975 he was united to Dorothy Muckey in Lewiston. They made their home there until 1979 when they moved to Hatton. He then went to work for Cooper Plumbing in Portland, North Dakota as a master plumber and then worked as an independent plumber for many years.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and was Past Commander of Carroll O. Flesche Post # 70 Hatton American Legion.
Ernest enjoyed gardening and working outside. He also had a gift for fixing things and working on small engines.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Edward Langford of Billings, Montana; brother, Richard (Irene) Gensrich of Hatton, North Dakota; sisters, Marge Gensrich, Patti (Donald) Huus, and Jane (Luther) Lerfald all of Hatton, North Dakota; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Bilden Funeral Home of Hatton is assisting the family with arrangements.
