Geraldine Bommersbach, 89, of Northwood, ND passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Geraldine (Jean) was born in Northwood, the daughter of Edwin and Lillian (Tangen) Sherva. After graduating from Northwood High School in 1947 she married David Bommersbach in 1950. They had two sons, Michael and Scott. In 1976, Mike was killed in a car accident. Jean worked at Northwood State Bank and Baseview Petroleum.
Jean was an outstanding daughter, sister, wife, mother and aunt but for Jean nothing compared to being a grandmother to Tanner, Shelby, and Bryce in building memories that will last their lifetimes. Besides family, Jean also enjoyed polka music, dancing, and the Northwood community.
Survivors include her son Scott (Holly) Bommersbach, Grand Forks; grandchildren Tanner, New Haven, CT; Shelby (Tyler), Grand Forks; and Bryce, Grand Forks. Brother Eddy (Annette) Sherva, Northwood; sister Lois Engelbrektson, Jamestown. In-laws Cathy Bommersbach and Delores Hippe, Fargo; Jerry (Donna) Bommersbach, Lompoc, CA; Ron (Carol) Bommersbach, Devils Lakers. Jean is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband David; son Mike; and brother Raymond.
