Gordon Ovind

Gordon Ovind, 87, of Northwood, ND passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 2:00pm at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held one hour before the time of the service at the church.

Gordon graduated from Northwood High School in 1945. He served as a corporal in the United States Army during World War II.

Gordon was active in the church and loved to sing in the choir. He was an upstanding member of the community and enjoyed maintaining the golfing grounds in Northwood. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. His family has very fond memories of him and will miss him.

Survivors include his two stepdaughters, Linda Dunn of Richmond, Virginia, and Joni Helmer of Grand Forks, and five grandchildren: Nathan Segui, Lauri Hunter Mershon, Kaelyn Helmer, Charles David, and Chris Kuchera, and great grandchildren: Ashley Heinrich and Serenah Segui.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Cora and his brother Archie Junior.
