Harlan Benjamin Pladson was born on January 15, 1953 in Northwood, ND to Edward and Thelma (Thompson) Pladson. He began his education in the Newburgh #1 country school and was a graduate of Hatton High School and NDSSS of Wahpeton. He married Patricia Kleveland in Hatton on May 11, 1974. Harlan was employed by Acme Welding in Fargo and Bismarck before moving back to Hatton in 1980 to begin his life as a farmer. Harlan enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, golf and play cards. One of his proudest moments was when he became a grandfather. He was so proud of his two grandchildren and enjoyed it when he could get down to Kansas to take in their activities. He so looked forward to their FaceTime visits-what a great invention! Harlan would be pleased to know that he was a donor to the ND Eye Bank-being registered as a donor was important to him after his mother was a recipient of an organ donation.

Harlan is survived by his wife, Pat; sons: Jason, Hatton, and Cory (Amy), Clay Center, KS; grandchildren: Cole and Addyson Pladson, Clay Center, KS; sisters: Pam (Jeff) Brandon, Moorhead, MN, and Paulette (Loren) Amundson, Fargo, ND; and several uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
