Hazel Holter

Hazel Holter, 98, of Northwood, ND passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Hazel was born May 9, 1921, the daughter of Thorwald and Lena (Heskin) Enger. She grew up in the Hatton area and attended school there. Hazel married Parnell Holter on July 15, 1939 in Grand Forks and then moved to Northwood. Hazel was a member of Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide and the Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

Hazel is survived by four daughters: Verna Melfald, Northwood, ND; Darlene (Vernon) Stokkeland, Cooperstown, ND; Rose (Richard) Bjoralt, Northwood, ND; Peggy Pender, Grand Forks, ND; Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Richard) Homestad, Alta Loma, California; brother, Sanford Enger, Salina, Kansas;

Preceding her in death was her husband, Parnell, in 1984; her parents, son-in-law and great-great-grandchild, Trevor; three brothers and two sisters.
