Hazelle Lund

February 15, 1912 — August 23, 2012

Hazelle Lund, 100, of Sharon, ND passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton, ND. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Sharon, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 30th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Bilden Funeral Home, Northwood, ND. Burial in the Silent Hill Cemetery, Aneta, ND.
Hazelle was born February 15, 1912, in Sherbrooke Township, ND, the third child of Loring and Bessie Bugbee. She attended grade school in Sherbrooke and high school in Hope, ND. While in school she was a starter on the girls' basketball team all four years and enjoyed the sport all her life. She graduated from high school in 1931 and in July of 2012, was honored in the Hope Celebration Parade as the oldest living Hope High graduate at the time of the event.
On June 10, 1939, she married Miles Lund. They lived in Sharon until 1946, when they purchased a farm between Sharon and Aneta, which was one mile from where Miles was born and raised. They were helpmates in developing a wonderful farm setting and enjoyed working together on many farm projects. She and Miles were active members of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Sharon Senior Citizens. She was active as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, and member of the Church Ladies WELCA. Hazelle was on a bowling league for many years, as well as a member of a sewing club and birthday club. Her concern and enthusiasm in listening and talking to people of all ages will be fondly remembered and appreciated by her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and lovingly cared for her home and farm.
Survivors include her children: Carole (Stanley) Eliason, Norman, OK, Douglas (Carol) Lund, Aneta, and Dennis (Gayle) Lund, Sharon, ND; grandchildren: Maren Eliason (Braver) and Fredrik Eliason, children of Carol and Stan; Mark, Jeff, and MaryJo Lund, children of Douglas and Carol; Connie and Nathan Lund, children of Dennis and Gayle; great-grandchildren: Eli and Isaac Braver, children of Maren Eliason and Robert Braver; Gracie, Gavin, and Jack Lund, children of Mark and Brigid; and Kaitlyn and Erik Eliason, children of Fredrik and Karen; brothers: Leslie (Vivian) Bugbee, Mason City, IA and Melvin (Amy) Bugbee, Grand Forks, ND.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Miles; brothers, Dan and Steve and infant brother Kenneth; and sisters: Marian Peterson and Eva Rossow.
