Jean Hagen

Jean Hagen, 82, of Northwood, ND, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 24, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Jean Griffin was born November 18, 1940, in rural Mekinock, ND, the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Haugen) Griffin.  She grew up attending country school and finishing her education at Central High School in Grand Forks, ND.

She enjoyed entertaining her friends with coffee, working many years at Northwood Floral, decorating at the church and family gatherings.

She married Charles Hensrud in November of 1957.  They had three children: David, Debra, and Darcey. 

Jean was united in marriage to Orville Hagen in February of 1970.  With the marriage to Orville, the family grew to include six more children: Lonnie, Tim, Lana, Robbie, Terry and Annette.  Together they enjoyed 46 years of marriage, a blended family of nine children, 27 grandchildren, and 41 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; son, Tim; granddaughters Angela and Robin; and grandson, Brian.  She is survived by her brother, Larry; eight children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
