Jean Ramstad

Jean Ramstad, 89, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bilden Funeral Home in Northwood, ND. A visitation will be held one hour before the funeral service and a burial to follow at the Northwood Cemetery.
Jean was born on November 13, 1922, in Hatton, ND to Emil and Thea (Huus) Gulbrandson. She grew up in Hatton and graduated high school there. On December 1st she married Sanford Ramstad in Texas. After marriage she farmed in the Hatton area and later moved to Grand Forks. While in Grand Forks she managed a café and worked in the grocery business. Jean really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Surviving Jean are her children: LaVonne (Norris) Nelson of Thompson, ND, Eric Ramstad of McIntosh, MN, and Diane Holweger of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren: Lisa (Brian) Nygard; Chad Ramstad; Nancy (Scott) Wetsch, Sherry Zeman and Tina Redfield (Nathan Shocky); Susan (Jeff) Vig, Debby (Tom) Howell and Jim (Lori) Thomas; brother, Emil (Gayle) Gulbrandson of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Alpha (Jack) Kreidler of Minneapolis, MN; 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Sanford; daughter, Sandra Thomas; and two brothers and one sister.
