Jerome Kjorven

Jerome Kjorven, 83, of Northwood, ND passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at his home in Northwood. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Jerome Arlie Kjorven was born February 21, 1936 on the family farm in rural Northwood to Joseph and Alice (Brager) Kjorven. He grew up in Northwood and graduated from Northwood High School in 1954. Jerome started farming and drove truck for various local trucking firms in the winter. On September 21, 1958, he married Kay Enger at Aurdal Lutheran Church in Portland, ND.  Jerome enjoyed hunting, traveling and camping with his family. He also enjoyed going out to the farm to help Todd. He was a very innovative person and could fix or repair anything. His smile always lit up any room he walked in to and he thoroughly enjoyed laughing, joking and telling old stories.

Survivors include his children: Janine (Rick) Hodek, Grand Forks, ND; Todd (Chris) Kjorven, Northwood, ND; Amy (Mark) Barnett, Reynolds, ND; grandchildren: Brandon (Cassie) Hodek, East Grand Forks, MN; Alyx Kjorven, Nashville, TN; Sady Kjorven, Northwood; Jacob Barnett and Rachel Barnett, both of Reynolds; his fiancee, Carol Baird, Crookston, MN;

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Kay; and sisters, Avis and Judy.
