Joann Flaten

Joann Flaten, 66, of Hatton, ND passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Sanford Hospital in Mayville, ND. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm at the Bilden Funeral Home in Northwood, ND.

Joann Huus was born October 8, 1948 in Hatton, ND to Elvin and Clara (Hanson) Huus. She grew up in Hatton and graduated from Hatton High School in 1967. Following high school, Joann worked various jobs around the area. On November 9, 1978, she married Larry Flaten in Sisseton, SD. Joann enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.

Survivors include her husband Larry, Hatton, ND; mother Clara Huus, Hatton, ND; siblings: Gerald (Mary) Huus, West Fargo, ND; Carol Groven, Hatton, ND; Rodney Huus, Grand Forks, ND; and mother-in-law Ella Flaten. Joann is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her father Elvin, brother Lyle Huus, father-in-law Hilman Flaten, and Larry's daughter Shelley.
