June 11, 1918 — July 4, 2014

Josephine Oletta (Brenna) Noss, 96 of Hatton, ND passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 2:00p.m. at Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton. A visitation will be held one hour before the time of the service at the chapel. Josie was born June 11, 1918 to Lauritz and Maria (Bjerke) Brenna in Newburg Township and was raised with 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Josie attended country school in Newburg Township as well.
On October 25, 1959, she married Joseph Noss and together they had 45 years of marriage. Until then, she had been a member of Goose River Lutheran Church. After their marriage, she became a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was very active for many years in Sunday school, Ladies Aide, and quilting. Her greatest wish was to pass on her deep faith in God to her children and grandchildren.
Josie had many different jobs throughout her life, the last being a CNA for 18 years at Hatton Prairie Village, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She also enjoyed playing the piano, organ, and guitar, playing various hymns and songs by ear. A favorite that we all heard quite often was, "You Are My Sunshine." She always enjoyed traveling, having been to California, Washington, Oregon, Connecticut, New York, to name a few states as well as many trips to British Columbia.
Josie is survived by 2 daughters: Marie (Bernie) Breidenbach, Reynolds, ND, and Janet (Dan) Brennan, Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada; grandchildren: Tom (Lori), Dean (Coral), Chris (Andrea), Jesse (Terry), Nicole and Sam, Sean (Tanya), Aaron (Matilee), Karen (Mark) and Kelly; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Joseph, brothers: Arthur, Clarence (Gyda), Alvin (Toni); sisters: Mable, Emma (Hans); sons: James, Selmer (Sam), and grandson Gene Brown.
