Joyce Meyers

Joyce Meyers, 82, of Northwood, North Dakota, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood with burial in Northwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Bilden Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Prayer Service and one hour prior to services in the church.

Joyce C. Reiten was born March 20, 1926 at Petersburg, North Dakota the daughter of Carl and Clara (Anderson) Reiten. As a young girl she moved with her family to Fosston, Minnesota where she graduated from Fosston High School in 1944. She then attended the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Grand Forks graduating in 1947. On Jun 21, 1952 she was united in marriage to Durwood Meyers. They made their home in Northwood where she worked as a nurse at Deaconess Hospital for many years. Durwood died November 9, 1995. She has continued to make her home in Northwood.
She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, the ELC WELCA and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Joyce enjoyed reading and fishing.

She is survived her daughters, Becky (Kevin) Hird of Branson, Missouri and Vicki (Richard) Tello of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; grandchildren, Kelly Hird, Lindsey Hird, Jason Tello and Jennifer Tello; three great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence (Marilyn) Reiten of Seattle Washington and Ione (Steven) Rogers of Seattle, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Durwood, brother, Orville, sisters, Mildred, Alna and Grace and an infant brother.

The Bilden Funeral Home of Northwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
