Kenneth Flaten

Kenneth Flaten, 97, of Hatton, ND passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the nursing home.

Kenneth Flaten was born April 30, 1920 on a farm near Hatton, ND to Ole and Alvina (Stevening) Flaten. He was raised near Hatton and was baptized and confirmed in Little Forks Lutheran Church, rural Hatton. Kenneth attended Viking School in rural Hatton. On June 10, 1940, he married Alpha Thoreson in Crookston, MN. Kenneth worked on several farms and then as a painter. He enjoyed cars and repairing lawn mowers.

Survivors include his children: Ken (JaVon) Flaten, Hatton, ND; Donald (Mary Alice) Flaten, Waukesha, WI; Joyce Ann (Greg) Plush, Georgetown, TX; 13 granchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Marlin Solveig, Portland, ND; Ardello Flaten, Klemme, IA; sister, Arlene Pederson, Palm Desert, CA.
