LaVida, Romero, 83, of Hatton, North Dakota died Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 7, 2010 in the Hatton Prairie Village Chapel with burial in Goose River Lutheran Cemetery of rural Hatton.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
LaVida Cox was born August 20, 1926 in Ozona, Texas the daughter of Harvey and Nina Inez (Mulkey) Cox. She moved with her family to Bakersfield, California where she graduated from high school. She was united in marriage to Dale Yeargan in 1946 in Bakersfield. They made their home there for five years before moving to Kernville, California. In 1966 she moved to Brea, California and in 1969 was united in marriage to Louis Romero. They established their home in Buena Park, California. She moved to Hatton, North Dakota in 1982 where she has since made her home. In February of 2009 she moved to the Hatton Prairie Village.
She enjoyed painting, crocheting, cooking, embroidering, knitting and gardening, especially flowers.
LaVida is survived by her sons, Chris (Sparkle) Yeargan of Hatton, North Dakota and Russell Yeargan of Sacramento, California; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Florene Hunter.
The Bilden Funeral Home of Hatton is assisting the family with arrangements.
