Lorraine Hanson

Lorraine Hanson, 91, of Northwood, ND passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 at 6:00p.m at Washington Lutheran Church, rural Northwood. A visitation will be held one hour before the time of the service at the church.
Lorraine was born February 1, 1924 at the Morkve Farm in rural Northwood to Anna and James Arnett. She grew up in Northwood and graduated from Northwood High School. During WW2, she worked at J.C. Penny at Kent, WA and for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle. On December 19, 1945, Lorraine married Marvin Hanson at Ebenezer Free Lutheran Church in Northwood. Marvin and Lorraine farmed in rural Northwood and managed the Lamp Lighter Motel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They had two children: Rebecca Hanson of Colorado and Craig (Shari) Hanson of Northwood; grandchildren: Shawn Smith of Wyoming and Jennifer (Dave) Ehlers of Cambria, North California, Chad (Aimee) Hanson of Hillsboro, ND, Tera (Austin) Brucker of Northwood, ND; Greatgrandchildren: Nathaniel Ehlers and Tori Ehlers of Cambria, CA, Kodi Hanson of Climas, GA, Alec Brucker and Zachary Brucker of Northwood, ND; She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Marvin, her parents and her brother Arvey Arnett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Washington Church Elevator Fund or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
