Lorraine M. Morkve

Lorraine M. Morkve, 92, of Northwood, ND, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at her home . Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Zoar Free Lutheran Church, Hatton, ND. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 16th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Bilden Funeral Home in Northwood.
Lorraine was born May 20, 1922 in Hatton, ND, the daughter of Nels and Olga (Aarhus) Lyste. She grew up and attended school in Hatton. On June 11, 1940, she was united in marriage to Berthold Morkve in Fisher, MN. They lived in rural Northwood on the Morkve family farm. Bert died March 9, 1982. Lorraine remained on the farm for seven years before moving into Northwood.
She was a member of Zoar Free Lutheran Church and Zoar Ladies Aid. Things she enjoyed were flower gardening, and caring for her home and family. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a hardworking, kind, and caring woman who was loved by all.
Survivors include her children: Douglas (Judy) Morkve, Northwood, ND, Randy (Joyce) Morkve, Grand Forks, ND, Lori Beth Morkve (Jeff Miller), Northwood; grandchildren: Travis (Jessica) Morkve, Todd Morkve, all of Grand Forks, Trey and Cole Skjoiten, both of Hatton, ND; great-grandchildren: Noah, Tucker, and IzaBella Morkve of Grand Forks; sister: Yvonne Offerdahl, Hatton; sisters-in law: Gertrude Morkve, Hatton and Eleanor Deihl, Fort Collins, CO.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; brothers: Chester and Orville Lyste; sisters: Alice Viken, Peggy Meyers, Nina Dokken, Hazel Grande.
Clergy: Chaplain Dean Lyste; Casket Bearers: David Dokken, Todd Morkve, Travis Morkve, Gary Offerdahl, Cole Skjoiten, Trey Skjoiten; Music: Adelle Bye, Organist, David Dokken, Soloist.
