Mae R, Schroeder, 91, of Hatton, ND, and formerly of rural Thompson, ND, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Holmes United Methodist Church, rural Reynolds, ND. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Mae R. Lange was born May 11, 1933, in Reynolds, ND, the daughter of the late Elroy and Esther Lange. She grew up in rural Reynolds, ND, attending country school and later graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. Mae married LeRoy Schroeder on October 26,1951. They were happily married for 70 years.
Mae taught school for 2 years, was active in music while attending what is now the Holmes United Methodist Church where she sang, directed the choir, played the organ, lead the youth group and many other lay person activities. She worked at the Hatton and Northwood Homes, the Grand Forks Airforce Base Credit Union, Homco Interiors, all while being a home maker and raising their four boys, one of her biggest accomplishments. Mae and LeRoy retired in 1993 to Alamo, TX and later moved to Orlando, FL where 2 of their sons lived.
Mae is survived by a brother Bernell (Hazel Belle) Lange, 4 Sons: Michael (Rhea) Schroeder, Gregory (Fernando Guilherme) Schroeder, Randy (Michael Lapinsky) Schroeder and Loran (Donna)Schroeder; 4 Grandchildren: Eryn Hagadone, Bryann (DJ) Colquitt, Andrew Schroeder, Jayce Schroeder; and 1 Great Grandson, Nikko Hagadone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy and brother, Ross Lange.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Homes United Methodist Cemetery fund.
