Mary Ann Ericson, 69, of Fargo, North Dakota died Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in the Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton, North Dakota with burial in St. John Cemetery of Hatton.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Mary Ann Ericson was born and raised on the family farm northwest of Hatton, ND on April 19, 1940 to Frederic and Delores (Gensrich) Ericson, Sr. Mary Ann attended Washington School #70 a mile from her farm during her 1st grade through 6th grade school years. She started school in Hatton in the 7th grade and graduated from Hatton High School in 1958. In September of 1958 Mary Ann began her college years at Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks, ND, graduating in 1960 with a Junior Accounting Certificate. She also took several years of correspondence courses through Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduation Marry Ann moved to Fargo, ND where she held several jobs over a period of 48 years, retiring from JELD-WEN Millwork Distribution in 2003. Over the years she was also employed by the Fargo Chamber of Commerce and also St. Luke's Hospital (MeritCare).
Mary Ann loved sports and was an avid baseball fan. She spent many vacations in Minneapolis watching the Minnesota Twins and especially when she knew the New York Yankees were going to be in Minnesota as they were her favorite team. For over 13 years she watched the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks play baseball where she had tickets at Newman Outdoor Field on the campus of North Dakota State Univeristy.
She is survived by a brother, Gerald (Cherylyn) Ericson of Hatton, ND, two nephews Joe (Rachael) Ericson of Wimbledon, ND and Eric (Laura) Ericson and one niece Erin Ericson both of Hatton, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Frederic Ericson, Jr.
The Bilden Funeral Home of Hatton is in charge of the arrangements.
