Myron Hegg

Myron Andrew Hegg, 88, formerly of Northwood, ND passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at Parkwood Place in Grand Forks. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Mike was born on June 24, 1930 to O.M. and Luella (Tandberg) Hegg in rural Northwood, ND. He began his farming career alongside his father. He married Hazel Holter at Ebenezer Lutheran Church on April 8, 1951. They later purchased the family farm which he operated for nearly 50 years. During that time they had three children; Joady, Randy, and Darcy. Darcy passed away shortly after birth.

Mike served on several boards; Northwood Equity Elevator, Grace Township, and NDHC. He and Hazel enjoyed spending 30 winters in Pharr, TX. Much of their summers were spent fishing and enjoying time with friends and family at Leech Lake in Walker, MN. He was very proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always ready to take them out on the boat to fish, water ski, and tube. At the end of the day they always knew he would have ice cream cones waiting for them which were usually enjoyed together while watching a Twins game.

Mike is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hazel; children: Joady Wagner, Pettibone, ND, Randy (Tati) Hegg, Northwood, ND; Grandchildren and great grandchildren; Heidi Wagner, Carrington, ND; Hoyt (Cara) Wagner and their daughter, Catie Jo, Pettibone, ND; Amy (Troy) Myron and their children Brenden, Rylan, and Carter, Northwood, ND; Rhonda (Troy) Enger, Northwood, ND; Ryndee (Chad) Veer and their children Landyn, Alec, and Kjeldee, Northwood, ND; Cydnee (Derrick) Strand and their children Norah, Nolan, and Nixon, Northwood, ND; sister Ione Mutchler, Fargo, ND; sister-in-law Maxine Hegg, Sun City West, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Darcy; brothers Curt and Wally Hegg; brother-in-law Bob Mutchler; sister-in-law Mary Hegg; son-in-law Hubert Wagner.
