Olaf Midtbo, 87, of Hatton, ND, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood, ND. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 2:00p.m. at Goose River Lutheran Church, rural Hatton. A visitation will be held Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. with a 7:00p.m. prayer service at Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton.

Olaf was born July 19, 1926, to Tollef and Angela (Pladson) Midtbo. He grew up in the Hatton area and attended Northwood High School. On June 5, 1954, Olaf married Jean Thompson at Goose River Church, rural Hatton. He was a lifelong farmer in Newburgh Township of Steele County. Olaf was an active member of Goose River Lutheran Church, Chordsmen Men’s Singing Group, Steele County Soil Conservation, Hatton Co-Op Oil, and Hatton Tri County Home Board. He enjoyed visiting, music, sporting events, and family activities.

Survivors include his wife Jean, Hatton, ND; children: JoAnn (Curtis) Funseth, Northwood, ND, Brian (Dawn) Midtbo, Redmond, WA, Paul (Michele) Midtbo, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren: Marie Funseth, Kari (Jeremiah) Messner, Kyle Funseth, Katelyn Midtbo, Kelsey Midtbo, Adonica Midtbo, Alexa Midtbo; siblings: Ada (Ted) Thompson, Hatton, ND, Guy (Carol) Midtbo, Beaver Dam, WI;

He was preceded in death by his parents.
