Patricia "Patty" Eleanor (Gensrich) Huus, 67, of Hatton, ND was carried home on Thursday, September 5, 2013, surrounded by her loved ones at Sanford Medical Center.
Patty was born on March 8, 1946, in Northwood, ND. She was the fourth of five children born to Ernest and Eleanor (Harmon) Gensrich. Patty attended elementary school at Union 54 in rural Hatton and finished her education at Hatton Public School. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church.
She met the love of her life, Don Huus, and they were married on July 30, 1962, and enjoyed 51 years together. They made their home in Hatton, ND where they raised five wonderful children.
Patty worked at Crystal Sugar in Hillsboro, ND for 23 years until she became a caretaker for her daughter, Tammy. She was also a "stay-at-home- Grandma" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was never a day when you would not see her grandchildren running around outside.
She enjoyed the Minnesota Twins, Betty Boop, casino trips and most importantly her family, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Survivors include her loving husband, Donny, Hatton, ND; children: Curtis (Barb) , John (Michelle), Kim (Jay) Ostlie, all of Hatton, Corey (Katie), of Northwood, ND; brother, Richard (Irene) Gensrich, of Hatton; sisters Marjorie Gensrich, Jane (Luther) Lerfald, all of Hatton, ND; grandchildren: Stephanie (Riley) Lillemoen, Sara Huus, Tiffany Huus, Jessica Ostlie, Spencer Huus, Bailey Westmoreland, John Huus Jr., Cody Ostlie, Skylar Westmoreland, McKenzie Huus and Andrew Huus; great-grandchildren: Brody Lillemoen, Layken Strand and Tenley Lillemoen; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Ernest Jr. Gensrich and daughter, Tammy Huus.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church, Hatton, ND. Visitation will be held Monday, September 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial will be held in the St. John Cemetery, Hatton.
