Rodney A. Vigen, 69, of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, July 17, 2009 at Little Forks Lutheran Church rural Hatton with burial in Little Forks Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday at the Bilden Funeral Home in Hatton from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm and one hour prior to services in the church.
Rodney A. Vigen was born October 16, 1939 in Finley, North Dakota the son of Ilen and Irene (Walswick) Vigen. He grew up in the Finley, Sharon and Hatton area and attended school in Hatton and Emerado. Upon receiving his education he served in the United States Army for two years and then four years in the Army Reserve. He then worked various constructions jobs in California and Hatton and then worked 26 years at the Farmers Grain Elevator in Manvel before retiring.
He was a member of the Carroll O. Flesche Post # 70 Hatton American Legion Post.
Rodney enjoyed golfing, traveling, spending time with friends and visiting the Rocking R Ranch near Hatton.
He is survived by his brothers, Virgil of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Dennis of Arvilla, North Dakota; seven nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jeffrey.
The Bilden Funeral Home of Hatton, North Dakota is assisting the family with arrangements.
