Sandra Yoakam

Sandra Lee Yoakam, 81, affectionately known as Sandy was called to the Father’s House Sunday, December 12, 2021, at her home in Portland, ND. A memorial service will be held at the Portland Lutheran Parish at a later date. Notification will be forth coming.

Sandy was born in Vinton Iowa but lived most of her life in the St. Petersburg / Largo area of Florida. Sandy moved to Portland 16 years ago and was a devoted and long-time employee of Paula’s Steakhouse. She had many friends in Mayville / Portland; however, upon her retirement in 2019 she moved back to Florida where three of her children still reside. As time was getting closer Sandy wanted to return to Portland to see her friends, and revisit her home that her daughter and son-in-law now live in. She was very devoted to God, and her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Therese (Randy) Farrior, Lakeland, FL, daughter Melinda Hopson, Goodyear, AZ, son Frank (Malissa) Hopson, Largo, FL, daughter Tricia (Larry) Pope, Portland, ND, and son Shawn Yoakam, Oldsmar, FL.
Grandchildren, Anthony Chapman Shakira Pope, Elby Pope, Ranese Farrior, Randal Farrior, Vashawn Pope, Justice Yoakam, Sean Sampson, Devon Pope, Larry Pope, Mika Myers, Sha-Koda High, and Illiana Yoakam. Sandy also had 12 great-grandchildren.
Sandy was proceeded in death by her parents Howard and Francis Lucille Sanders, and her brother Sandy Sanders.
Sandy will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
