Shirley Ann Stenmo

Shirley Ann Stenmo, 81, of Hatton, ND passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Altru Hosptial in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11:00 at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of the service at the church.

Shirley Ann Eken was born December 4, 1935 in Hatton, ND to Benard and Myrtle (Sorlien) Eken. She attended Hatton High School and graduated in 1953.

On June 28, 1953, Shirley married Orin Thorman Stenmo at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton. They farmed in the Hatton area for 44 years.

Shirley was a very active and devoted member of NELC. Over the years, she taught Sunday school, held many offices in WELCA and Ladies Auxiliary.
Shirley's greatest joy in life was taking care of her family. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, spending time at the family cabin with loved ones, and cooking incredible meals.

Survivors include her children: Terence Stenmo, Hatton; Todd Stenmo, Hatton, ND; Nicole (Joel) Brown, Fisher, MN; Grandchildren: Tera, Jenny, Jessica, Steven, Kelly, Chelsey and Zackary; and Great-Grandchildren: Cole, Alex, Connor, Audra, Nora, Camden, Eliza and Kota.

Preceding her in death were her parents, son, Thomas Stenmo and husband, Orin Thorman Stenmo.
