Todd Enger

Todd Allen Enger, 48, of Northwood, ND, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Ebenezer Free Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Todd Allen Enger, son of Allen and Charlotte (Miedema) Enger, was born October 20, 1976, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND. As an infant, he was dedicated to the Lord at North Marion Reformed Church, Marion, ND. He made his confession of faith at the Red River Reformed Church.

Todd grew up on the family farm near Ypsilanti, ND. He helped his dad, uncles, and cousins with the field work and harvest. He did whatever chores were needed to be done with the livestock.

Todd and his sister Tania were active in 4-H leading their swine at Achievement Days. His young life was surrounded by grandparents, many cousins, aunts and uncles who enjoyed being together. Friends were also very important to Todd.

His education included K-8 grades at Montpelier School, Montpelier, ND. He spent his high school years at Marion High School, Marion, ND, graduating in 1995. Todd loved baseball and started playing in Ypsilanti, ND, and later played basketball. He also attended Bible School as an elementary student and later helping with Vacation Bible School at his church.

Todd attended NDSU graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Economics in 1999. His first job was with the USDA as a farm loan officer in Bagley, MN. He then lived and worked in Hillsboro before moving to West Fargo at Eagle Run. In Northwood, he was Branch Manager at Citizens State Bank and Citizens Community Credit Union.

On February 17, 2007, Todd married his best friend Sandra Brekke at Red River Reformed Church, West Fargo, where they made their home. They later moved to Northwood for Todd’s job at Citizen’s State Bank. He was a member of the Northwood Commerical Club and Ebenezer Free Lutheran Church in Northwood. Two sons, Westin (2008) and Grant (2011) were added to the family. Todd loved being a father! He even gave up his 2000 Harley to focus on being the best husband and daddy.

In April of 2017, Todd made his home at Northwood Deaconess Health Center. Todd was loved by the staff whom he called “Friends” and gave high fives to each one when he saw them. Smiles were a part of his greeting to others as was his expression of saying, “Oh, Baby!” We as a family cannot begin to express the Gratitude we have for the love and caring hands you had for Todd.

Todd left those who loved him to go from this life to eternal LIFE on March 6, 2025, at the age of 48. Grateful to have shared his life are his wife Sandy and two sons Westin and Grant of Northwood, his mother Charlotte Enger and her husband Les Nordgaard of Jamestown, Brother-in-Law Chris (Beth) Poyzer of Salol, MN. Sandy’s parents Wesley and Valerie Brekke of McIntosh, MN, Sister-in-Law Beth (Shawn) Rominski of Stephan, MN, neice and nephews Emma, Mason, and Henry Rominski, and uncles, aunts, cousins, and special friends Lonny and Faye.

He is preceded in death by his father, Allen Enger and sister, Tania Enger Poyzer. His grandparents’ Einar and Rena Enger, Harry and Margaret Miedema, his uncles’ Jim Vondergeest, Sherwin Enger, Leroy Miedema, and aunt Marlene Vondergeest, his cousins Allen DuVall, Jordan Enger, Mason Enger, and second cousin Cassidy Erberle.
